Privacy notice

Who are we?

This is the website of the Autism Alliance UK. The Autism Alliance UK is a partnership of charities (based in the UK) supporting autistic people and their families, and is hosted by Autism Initiatives Group (Company registration number: 07120634). The data controller for your personal data when you visit this website is Autism Initiatives Group (ICO registration number: Z6597842), whose registered office is Sefton House, Bridle Road, Bootle, Merseyside L30 4XR.

What data we collect through this website

We collect your name, email address, organisation (if applicable) and any message you include when you complete and submit an expression of interest using the website forms on our:

  • membership page

  • supporter page

  • contact us page.

We collect this data in order to review and respond to your expression of interest or enquiry. The basis for this data collection is consent (your confirmation that you are happy for us to respond to your enquiry).

The data you provide through this form is passed to our CRM, Hubspot, where your data is stored. Hubspot stores our account’s data in the European Union. This is their Regional Data Hosting Policy. This is their Privacy Policy.

A copy of your enquiry is also sent to the hello@autismalliance.org.uk mailbox and copied to our member of staff responsible for communications.

Data and emails received through the website contact form are deleted after 2 years. If your organisation is a Member of the Autism Alliance UK, data is held for the duration of the Alliance’s partnership with you, and is reviewed annually.

This website is built using Squarespace, which stores data in data centres across the United States. This is their Privacy Policy.

Other data we might collect

We might collect data from both organisations and the public through surveys hosted on Survey Monkey, to inform campaigns, projects and policy influencing. This may include collecting your name, email address and/or telephone number in order to contact you if you have indicated you are interested in participating in a focus group or sharing your story publicly. Again, the basis of this data collection is consent (your confirmation that you are happy for us to contact you with more information and to find out whether you would like to go any further). It may also include collecting your name and email address in order to contact you as part of market research in connection with a prospective project.

The data you provide via surveys hosted on Survey Monkey is stored in their data centres. This is Survey Monkey’s Privacy Policy. Data collected through such surveys is processed only by Autism Alliance UK staff, although may be shared with third parties with your consent (see next section).

Data collected via surveys hosted on Survey Monkey are deleted after 2 years, and if included in public reports and press notices all data collected via surveys will be presented in the aggregate, and not linked to any individual.

Sharing data with third parties

If you have indicated you are interested in sharing your story publicly, for example as part of a campaign, media article or media interview, we might share your name, email address and/or telephone number with a communications agency, so they can contact you. Again, this would only be with your consent, which we would seek before sharing the data. In seeking your consent, we will share the privacy policy of the communications agency so you can review this before deciding whether to give consent. Files containing your data will be encrypted, and will be deleted after 2 years.
