Scottish Autism
Background to Scottish Autism
Scottish Autism is an autism charity that exists to help those living with autism to lead full and enriched lives and become valuable members of the community they live in. We seek to maximise the individual potential of all those on the autistic spectrum and our organisation is dedicated towards helping them and those who additionally offer support to achieve this aim.
Established in 1968 by a group of parents, Scottish Autism is an independent Scottish charity committed to working for the rights and quality of life of people with autism. With a head office in Alloa and over 800 staff working across Scotland, Scottish Autism offers a range of support for people with autism including education, day care, supported living, vocational opportunities, respite and outreach. Currently over 400 people with autism in Scotland are supported by us. For people working in this field or families touched by autism, we are at the forefront of training and offer a comprehensive advisory service.
